Hi, and thanks for downloading pj1115's HTML viewer sound creator! (HTML viewer is the internal name for the browser).

This program lets you modify the sounds that play when doing various things (eg, options, OK, cancel, etc).
To produce these sounds, you need a sound effect in uncompressed WAV format of in VAG.
If you've got the WAV's, use the included MFAUDIO to convert them to VAG. If you've got neither, convert it to WAV first by converting it (my favourite way is to open in in Audacity, a free audio editor, and export it as a WAV).

Included in the archive:

[DIR] Creator - start.bat (creator: Batch Script), start.exe (Windows Executable:
       | much faster and a better alternative if you can't run CMD scripts)
       |
       |------- [SUB-DIR] MFAUDIO - mfaudio.exe (This is the VAG converter)
       |------- [SUB-DIR] output - output htmlviewer.snd file appears here.
       |------- [SUB-DIR] res - 1.vag-7.vag, header.dat (your VAG files go in here)

[DIR] sndflasher - EBOOT.PBP (This is the flasher)
[FILE] readme.txt - You are here!

File list:

header.dat > Don't modify. It's not really a header, it's just essential data.
01.vag > Cursor sound
02.vag > OK sound
03.vag > Cancel sound
04.vag > Option/Expand view sound
05.vag > Error sound (default blank)
06.vag > "System_OK" sound
07.vag > "System_NG" sound
-----------------------------------------

To Convert the wave audio (WAV) file to VAG using the included MFAUDIO.exe, open the program, press OPEN, and select your WAV. Press PLAY to hear the sound. Select VAG in the output format, an output file, and press PROCESS!

Make sure you have 7 VAG files in the "res" folder (01.vag - 07.vag) before you run the program, because there are checks. If all 7 files exist, they'll be merged, and the "header" will be added to the file.

Use the instructions below in the "The Flasher" section to flash your new sounds!

To flash the new sounds, take your newly created htmlviewer.snd file, and either flash it using PSPfiler, recovery mode's Flash0 USB, or the included flasher. (If you're doing it in one of the first two ways, it goes in flash0:/vsh/resource).

Flasher instructions:
Place the output htmlviewer.snd in the flasher's folder, the same one as the EBOOT. (It should be "sndflasher").

Run the flasher from the Game menu on the PSP, and press [X] to confirm. If it passes the checks, it'll be flashed.

Test them in the browser, and if all works, great. If it doesn't, I'm sorry, but this is just a concept firmware mod.
